When the media discusses the economic crisis that is spreading around the globe, they gives us statistics... numbers. We sometimes lose sight of the people who make up those statistics. We overlook the humanity of the crisis.

The faces of the homeless are changing. No longer are the homeless as they have for so long been depicted. They are the middle class who lived paycheck to paycheck. They are our neighbors. They are people who want to work but for no fault of their own, can't. And for many of us, it may come to pass that all we will have to do to see one of those faces is look in the mirror.

It was reported on MSNBC that the homeless situation is quite serious in Sacramento, California. Shelters are full. So where do those people go? Tent city.

Tent cities are popping up around the country and more people are flocking to them with growing regularity. For more on the current situation in Sacramento, view the video below.
