It seems there must be something in the water in Florida as of late - something that is making people just crazy enough to make national headlines. This week, Florida has been a veritable treasure trove of news for media outlets.

Let us review...

Where to begin?

Let's start with Thursday...

It was reported that a 7-month-year old girl was found alive five days after she was reported missing. That isn't the crazy part, though. According to reports, the girl was found in a cedar box, under a bed, at her babysitter's house. Crazier still - her mother, who reported her missing, gave her to the babysitter.

A lawsuit was filed against the state of Florida and others for the low graduation rates in Palm Beach County. Reportedly, graduation rates were somewhere between "56 percent and 71 percent in 2006." Further, it was reported that "the gap between black and white graduation rates has remained approximately 30 percentage points, while the gap between Hispanic and white graduation rates has been about 20 percentage points."

A teacher was removed from her class for making a 6-year-old student clean the urine of another student in the classroom restroom.

A 5-year-old boy was left behind at a park after the rest of the children and his "teacher" returned to their day care. The teacher said she didn't know what happened.

On to Friday...

The country was glued to their TVs, radios, and the internet as a man in Orlando went on a shooting spree in an office building. He was eventually caught after killing at least one person and wounding five others.

A man who said he was "too fat" to have committed the murder he was being charged with, was found guilty on Friday.

Although the supposed kidnapping of a Florida woman happened back in September, police are now saying they believe she faked her abduction. She is denying the allegations.

Although there was a lot more that happened, I think this is enough to sufficiently support that there was a whole lot of crazy in Florida this week.
