My friend and I were shopping in the Bare Minerals store and the clerk asked for our birthday. I am usually reluctant about that kind of stuff, but a lot of stores offer discounts to shoppers who share their information. So my friend said her b-day was in April, and guess what? She qualified for the birthday discount of 15%!

A lot of beauty retailers offer a birthday discount or, if you happen to be their credit card holder, send you birthday coupons in the mail. I was able to get a birthday discount from the The Body Shop as well (back in October during my own birthday month.) Watch for particular retailers who ask you to sign up for a frequent shopper card.

You may want to be selective on which retailers can have your birthday or address (or you may be inundated with junk mail if you do) but if you are a repeat shopper with a certain retailer, it doesn’t’ hurt to ask. Happy Birthday!
