SPINLASH Review – A Motorized Mascara Wand

According to their website, “SPINLASH is the first mascara that revolves around you with a brush that gently rotates 360 degrees in both directions to apply mascara …removes clumps with every turn while separates, coats, lengthens, and volumizes your lashes.”

 
Available at Target for $14.99, the promo promises amazing results for your lashes but I was not overly impressed by it. The actual wand is very similar to Covergirl’s LashBlast. Although it was really effective in preventing clumps, you can get similar results from conventional mascaras. 
 

Here are the pros:
 
  • Very effective in removing clumps on your lashes. My lashes were defined and looked natural afterwards.
  • You can use your own mascara formula with the wand
  • Easy to clean
  • Turning motion is slow, so I felt safe using the product near my eyes.
  • The price point $14.99 – if you are a gadget girl, this is a small splurge that won’t break the bank.
 
Here are cons:
 
  • The price point $14.99 – at nearly twice the price of the average mascara from Target, it didn’t really amaze me. You can get much similar results with standard mascara.
  • It was not effective in curling my lashes. – Although after using an eyelash curler, I got much better results.
  • The free SPINLASH mascara formula (included in the package) weighed down my eyelashes and made them straight after a while. I recommend using your own formula.
 
So after the initial excitement of using a motorized wand, I can definitely see myself getting bored of this thing. Although I did like how I was able to have clump free lashes without the effort of zig-zagging the wand or using a lash comb. If you love to splurge on little gadgets, you may be interested in owning one but if you’re on a strict budget this month, I suggest you skip this.
