Quick Beauty Tip: Lighten the intensity of your Nail Color

June 13, 5:03 PM

Here is a quick beauty tip:

As your skin becomes more tan during the summer, you should choose more vibrant nail polish colors when doing your pedicure.  The bright colors on your toes will complement your darker skin tone better.

Please note that this is not always the case for your manicure, though.  If you wear your finger nails short, a too bright of a color may not be flattering and could possibly look almost juvenile.  So how do you tone down the brightness of a nail polish color?

Instead of spending money on buying another shade just for your manicure, mix the one you already own with clear nail polish.  I suggest taking aluminum foil and shaping it into a small bowl and mixing a few drops together.   This will make a more sheer complimentary color to your pedicure shade.
