Colorescience Sunforgettable Powder Sunscreen Review – A Must Have!

Most people already know that sun exposure is one of the leading causes of premature aging of the skin causing wrinkles, age spots and other skin discolorations – not to mention an increased risk of skin cancer.  Applying sunscreen on a daily basis is essential to your skin’s beauty and health.
Let me note that this also important for women of color. Although you may not burn easily, your beautiful skin tone won’t protect you against the UVA rays that will age your skin.

The problem is that sunscreen tends to wear off after two hours and needs to be reapplied throughout the day. Although it is easy to apply lotion sunscreen in the morning before your daily commute to work, it may be very inconvenient to have to reapply again before you head out for lunch or before your commute back home. There is also that “greasy” feeling that many complain about even with oil-free formulas.

Colorescience Sunforgetttable Powder Sunscreen is an excellent solution for your sun protection needs. Although the price point is pretty high, this is well worth the investment.

The Colorescience Sunforgettable is the “first SPF 30, all-clear, mineral powder with broad sprecturn (UVA and UVB and Infrared) sun protection."   It has an SPF of 30+ with the active ingredients of Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide.
...
Let me list the pros of my favorite sunscreen:
  • No greasy sunscreen feeling
  • Can be used for your face AND body
  • The product is clear, so it can be used with other traditional or mineral makeup lines
  • Can be conveniently applied under your makeup in the morning and over your existing make-up for a retouch throughout the day
  • Gives your face a “finished” glowing look like most mineral powder makeup
  • Decreases shine
  • Feels great on your skin
  • Available in applicators for easy transport in your purse.
  • Provides both UVA and UVB protection
The Cons
  • High price point

Although the shaker jar (.7 oz) will cost you about $50, I suggest purchasing the Sunforgettable Orb (.14oz) at only $10 - $12. You can purchase it online at the dermstore.com or several spas across the country.
Based on price and quality, Budget Girl’s overall rating is 5 out of 5.

Money saving tip: Buy it online by searching through “Live Search” first. Microsoft is offering a cash rebate of about 15% with your purchase, which cuts the price dramatically. Just visit www.live.com and type in “sunforgetable” and click on the link with the coin “cash rebate” icon.
