It really didn't take that long to transform the former Italian Campiello dining space into a Wild West saloon fitted with every cliche imaginable. From the Colt 45 (gun not malt liquor) door pulls to the barrel tables the only thing missing, for now, is the mechanical bull. This is a bar built for fun and busy times.
The menu didn't miss any turn of cliche as well. However the few things I tried on this impromptu visit (I'll post a real review in a couple of weeks after the kitchen has time to settle in) were pretty tasty. Portions of the three appetizers we tried were big and built for sharing. The Meatloaf Sliders were hefty portions of a tasty pepper and onion studded meatloaf on a soft bun with fried onions and homemade "Cowboy Slim" ketchup that pasted on
a little kick. My favorite was the Corn Bread Skillet, a fluffy light almost cake like corn bread with a whipped cinnamon butter that finished it off perfectly. I'm not sure where it fits in on a macho menu...but it sure was good.
So, hitch up those cowboy boots in the back of the closet and dust of your yoke shirts and real Stetson's and travel back to your Urban Cowboy days. (If your as old as I am)
