Anything for gas

Apparently people will do anything for gas, from the absurd (a man committing to name his child after radio DJs offering a gas card) to the illegal (lots of siphoning, even from church vans).  One Orlando man was caught filling an 800 gallon tank retrofitted to a Ford truck after he disabled the pump meter.

The funniest roundup is on Cracked.com.  Although a humor site, the scams exist, including a '70s retread promoting water in gasoline.  Sure, some people swear the contraption works, but can you really trust a guy called Ozzie Freedom (AS SEEN ON TV)?

Another option for laughing instead of crying:  Follow this link for a classic siphoning urban legend presented as a clip show parody.

More practical solutions to high gas prices are sensible driving habits, car pooling, public transportation, and bikes or scooters.
