Al Menah Temple Shrine Circus
When: Fri. 10 am and 7:30 pm, Sat. 11 am, 3:30 and 7:30 pm, Sun. 2 and 6 pm
Where: Nashville Municipal Auditorium, 417 Fourth Ave. N.
Cost: reserved seats: $22 adults, $15 children; general admission: $17 adults, $10 children
Elephants, clowns, tigers, aerialists, a human cannonball and more entertain all ages. Proceeds benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children. 226-7766

Disney On Ice: Celebrations!
When: today thru Sunday (10/4), various times depending on the day

Join in a celebration of the many cultures that make Nashville great. Live performances, food and World Market vendors, kid's activities, Global Villages and more will be on hand.

Barks for Parks
When: 9:30 am
Where: Bowie Nature Park, Highway 100, Fairview
Cost: Free
This community event promotes physical activity by walking your dog. Pet service vendors will be on hand as well.

Bicycle Tour
When: 9 am
Where: Stones River National Battlefield, 3501 Old Nashville Hwy., Murfreesboro
Cost: Free
Ages 8 and older can join a park ranger for a bike tour of the battlefield and learn about the Civil War battle that took place there. 893-9501

Free Admission Weekend at Cheekwood
When: Sat. 9:30 am - 4:30 pm, Sun. 11 am - 4:30 pm
Where: Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art, 1200 Forrest Park Drive, Nashville
Cost: Free
Enjoy the new exhibits, participate in hands-on activities, enjoy guided tours and more. 356-8000

Main Street Festival
When: 10 am - 6 pm
Where: Public Square, Gallatin
Cost: Free
Arts, crafts, a barbecue cook-off, children’s activities and live entertainment by local acts. 452-5692.

Portland’s Sesquicentennial
When: 9 am
Where: Main Street, Portland
Cost: Free
Celebrate the city of Portland’s 150th anniversary with contests for best old-fashioned recipe, best vintage costume and best beard. View antique quilts and local historical artifacts, enjoy live entertainment and participate in the burial of a time capsule. 325-6776

Bring your lunch and enjoy an outdoor concert featuring the big band and swing sounds of Radio Daze. This is great music for the kids to dance to and the weather is perfect for an outside lunch! Come early (9:30 or 10:30am) for storytime and then stay to enjoy this, the last concert of the season.

Thursday 10/8
Feeding the 5,000
When: Thurs. - Fri. 4 - 8 pm, Sat. 12 - 8 pm

Families can enjoy dinner, a magic show and more. Tickets are free and can either be printed from the website or obtained at the door. 355-9710

Preschool Storytime
When: 10 am
