The Boneyard needs some improvement but is a fun spot to drink, eat, play or rock. Service is sometimes subpar and the layout is bad in some spots, but the Music and kids activities are great.

Located in Mayfield Heights,The Boneyard took over an old movie theater a few years ago. Since then they have added a back patio equipped with a full bar, HDTV’S and patio heaters. Kids love the video arcade and can collect tickets for prizes.

A pretty penny was spent to make the place look great and the décor is very cool. Humorous signs like “Steelers fans pay double” and a skeleton motif are very entertaining. They also have one of the largest High Def TV screens in Cleveland.

The restaurant/bar/stage area has two floors and multiple bars, but the lower level must have been designed by a blind man.any seats are ill equipped for TV viewing or watching a band. The bar takes up too much space and is positioned at an awkward angle. Most of the bar chairs are decent to check out a game of your choice, but the staff has an odd policy of reserving bar stools for friends or regulars. Reserving tables should be left to a four star restaurant and never a bar stool unless Norm is a regular at your place.

Bartenders at The Boneyard typically provide great service, but again, because of the large weirdly shaped bar, may not see you when you want to order. If you don’t have a seat on a Friday or Saturday, expect to wait longer than usual for a round of beers. The wait staff was beyond bad during their 1st year of operation, but now 75% of them will give you fast, accurate service

Some great bands play there on the weekends and sometimes that is enough to make you forget the flaws of the establishment. If you like 80’s, Pop, Hair Bands or Hard Rock, there are a variety of bands that will kick your ass. One of the best is Dave’s Planet, whose local members have been rocking out for over twenty years. The food is pretty good but sometimes pricey. They do have food and drink specials, but change or cancel them for what they call “Special Events”. You may not a get wing special if it falls on Flag Day.

The duel atmosphere of twenty something’s and teens makes for a sometimes awkward environment. The management is pretty flexible, allowing kids to play unsupervised while drunk barely legal’s are within striking distance. There are many family oriented bar-restaurants in Cleveland these days, including, Dave & Busters, The Winking Lizard and Buffalo Wild Wings, doing a better job of keeping kids supervised or out altogether after a certain hour.
