The BASICS of Budget Fashion Shopping
Here are a few tips to help stretch your budget while making sure you stay in style:
B –
Body type. Know the different body types and dress to fit
your type. For example, if you have cellulite on your thighs, wear shorts that hit mid-knee instead of mid-thigh. If you have shorter legs and want to look taller, try
shorter shorts.
A –
Accessorize. Great
accessorizes are an inexpensive way to keep your outfits looking fresh and new. Places like
Forever 21 and
New York & Company have a variety of fashion pieces that can transform your outfit.
S –
Style. Each person has their own unique style. Don’t try to copy someone’s else style. Find your own.
I – “
In”. Just because it is “in” this season doesn’t mean you have to buy it. If you don’t like a current trend or style, don’t spend money on it. Chances are it will sit in your closet and you won’t wear it.
C –
Classics. Spend more money on quality, classic pieces (black pants, white blouse, or perhaps
a little black dress), and less money on fashion pieces that will fall out of style at the end of the season.
S –
Sales. Know when your favorite store puts items on sale or clearance. Many stores have a set pattern each month. Also subscribe to your favorite store’s email list to receive advance notice of sales and coupons.
