It never ceases to amaze me. Denver Restaurant Week was announced months ago yet people were calling local area restaurants the day before this week of gluttony begins to get a reservation for a party of eight for Saturday at 8 p.m. Really?!?! Is this the normal modus operandi for dining any week, and especially this week? You would think so given the volume of such calls received by the restaurants across Larimer Square.
I can help you find a table but miracles are just not that easy.
Sometimes by working the phones, you can indeed find that table. It is unlikely that it will be on the night you want or the time that you need, unless you call right after someone else cancels. While using the online reservation system OpenTable to book a reservation can actually let you see what tables are available, some restaurants are too small and still take reservations via telephone. Two such restaurants on Larimer Square include Corridor 44 and Cru.
At last check, these two restaurants were getting bombarded by calls for the highly coveted weekend nights. Here is a hint to you: Tuesday and Wednesday still have some tables left. Yet these places are so small, please shelve the idea of bringing in your posse of eight. The DRW menus for Corridor 44 and Cru are solid and innovative, and a great representation of what can continually be found there.
Better yet, add a bottle of Champagne or wine from their extensive lists, which is all the easier to do with the money you just saved during DRW. Call Corridor 44 at 303-893-0044 or Cru at 303-893-9463.
