Solitude--Jean Jacques Henner

A new website—AlonelyWorld.com--designed by a crisis counselor named Richard in Tucson, was created to “be a destination for healing, sharing, and caring,” born from his “realization of the critical need to bring health and wellness to A Lonely World.”

Origins of ALonelyWorld.com
Richard B., who thus far has concealed his identity, has seen much loneliness and depression during his more than 20 years as a counselor. He has a wealth of experience in the areas of social isolation, suicide prevention, and crisis management.

Given the power and accessibility of the Internet, he decided to create a website for people “who want to share in the human experience of loneliness and beyond.” It is his hope that the website “can be a destination for healing, sharing, and caring for all who seek a higher purpose and path to personal fulfillment, enlightenment, and longevity.”

About ALonelyWorld.com
The website is a work in progress, with a soothing and simple, and easy to navigate design. Although it is in its infancy (launched in March 2009), it provides a wealth of interesting content and links.

• Articles on medication, tai chi, yoga, and “The Worry Cure”
• Videos on loneliness, a Free Hugs Campaign,” and more
• Links on health and wellness (e.g., Andrew Weil, laughter yoga, and more)
• Links on loneliness
• Links for US Service Members (e.g., Adopt a US Soldier, Intrepid Fallen Heroes, and much more)

Naturally, because it is a website about sharing and caring, visitors are encouraged to send comments and share. If you’re feeling lonely, a little blue, and want to “share in the human experience,” you might pay ALonelyWorld.com a visit.
