Sen. Barack Obama and his staff are seriously considering using the 76,000-seat Invesco Field as the venue for accepting his nomination at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday, Aug. 28.
If so, the event would be open to the public, sources say, rather than closed, as it would if held in the 20,000-seat Pepsi Center. Sources acknowledge that campaign staffers toured the stadium facility recently, have crunched the numbers, and are seriously considering moving the grand finale of the four-day convention to the nearby outdoor stadium. The decision rests at the upper levels of the Obama campaign, and so far "all systems are go."
And while the Obama campaign in mum – so far – they haven’t shot down speculation which has brought the blogosphere to the point of boiling today.
Likewise, Mayor Hickenlooper’s staff is tight-lipped. But across the state -- whether folks are using screenames, or acting as anonymous sources, people are talking.
So the person of the moment is – the anonymous person. But he/she/they know more than they can say.
Stay tuned.
