The Grand Junction Police Department has issued two more summonses to demonstrators involved in the attempt to block Sarah Palin’s motorcade on Monday.
According to an official spokeswoman, Donald Dean Flynn, 20, of Fruita and Margret Hope Aneloski, 19, of Grand Junction have both been charged with obstructing government operations and obstructing a highway or passageway. These are class 3 misdemeanors.
Additionally, police said a juvenile has also been identified as taking part in that incident. That information will be turned over to the District Attorney’s office for review.
Previously, the police announced citations for three others -- all of whom filed complaints against the officers. Grand Junction police dismissed those complaints.
Authorities said a group of about 30 demonstrators along Palin's motorcade route had been instructed by police to stay on the sidewalk to protest lawfully. However, as the motorcycle escorts passed, some rushed out into the street and attempted to stop the motorcades.
