Just in time for gift-giving season, Grand Marnier debuted its latest limited edition bottle, "La Vie Grand Marnier," with a small event at Death and Company. The red lacquer bottle is limited to a mere 150 bottles, available this winter.
At the event, guests were invited to chat with representatives from the brand, and pair Grand Marnier fall / holiday cocktails with a sampling of small plates, including mushroom tarts, kobe beef sliders and lobster rolls. The new signature cocktail, La Vie En Rouge, made a splash as did two punches: Grand Sangria and Grand Marnier Sparkling Punch (see recipes in slide show below).
While the contents are the same Cordon Rouge (Cognac, aged in French barrels up to 10 years and blended with distilled essence of bitter orange, for a balanced orange liqueur) as traditional Grand Marnier, the packaging stands out. Stored in a velvet-lined box with a swingin' graphic, the bottle itself is coated in an "irresistible" metallic red lacquer. At $65 SRP, it's perfect for holiday hostess gifts, or as a little treat for that special someone who appreciates Grand Marnier on the rocks or in his/her favorite margarita.
In New York, the limited edition La Vie Grand Marnier is available at Sherry-Lehman, Morell & Company and Astor Wines & Spirits.
