JAZZ TRIVIA:
Last week's trivia question asked you to name the man thought by many to be the greatest jazz fusion drummer there ever was and the seminal jazz fusion band he helped form. The answers were Billy Cobham and The Mahavishnu Orchestra. Zanne Zarow and Mike Smothers, two of Bakersfield's best drummers, were the first to guess the answer correctly, thus earning Jazz Trivia Expert status. Honorable mention for also answering correctly goes to Paul Cierley. Congratulations!
Here is this week's Jazz Trivia Question:
This man died at an early age (53) from an asthma attack of all things. He was primarily known for his skill as a pianist, but, as a 10 year old he was featured as a drummer during a Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band concert. For Jazz Trivia Expert status, can you name this pianist and the nickname he was billed under when he appeared with Glenn Miller?
