The Speaker of the House said something nice today. When asked if she and President Obama or anyone from his administration had talked about his plan to
renew the "assault weapon" ban she said simply "No".
She then said “On that score, I think we need to enforce the laws we have right now,” and with an irresistible swift kick to the former president: “I think it's clear the Bush administration didn’t do that.”
I bet she looked at the wave of gun purchases after November 4th, the rate at which ammunition is flying off the shelves across the country, the spike in carry permit applications everywhere they are allowed and said "Hmmm, maybe I don't want to touch that issue." I congratulate her on her political acumen and wish her further wisdom in the future.
