All set to start your day in the Lord? Now that you have prayed and talked to God, it's time to read the word. When you are in church it's always good to carry a pen and notepad to jot down the scripture text, reference scriptures, and sermon notes. When you come prepared with notepad and pen, you are able to feed off the scriptures from the sermon throughout the week, while asking God to open up your understanding for a deeper illumination of the word.
There is so much we can study during a given week. There's your Bible study verses, Sunday school lesson, sermon notes, and there are also those things that God lays on your heart especially for you. In my church, our pastors encourage the congregation to get the tape/CD of the sermon. You would be surprised how much you may have missed when you were sitting in service being distracted by the crying child three rows back, or that unexpected but very necessary trip to the bathroom. Also, remember when you are not able to make it to church, don't go a whole week without hearing the word. God tells us in Romans 10:17: "... faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God." Nothing else is building up our faith in Christ except the hearing of the word. So don't underestimate the power of hearing the word. God is doing something in you. So get your ministry's tapes/CD's and know that the anointing of God's word is not weakened in translation. God has opened up many resources for the believer to have a closer relationship with Him, and He continues to provide all of our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

This reading plan features a reading from both the Old and the New Testaments, so you read through both Testaments together. You can also listen to Biblegateway's reading plans on the site's audio Bible.

"That Sunday School book is around here somewhere!" Ever heard that one before? Does it mostly come from your mouth? Well, just in case you misplace it or it's not readily available; there is hope. Christianstandard.com has your Sunday school lesson online. It tells you the text and gives commentary about the lesson.

Haven't invested in those ministry tapes/CD's just yet? Well get on that! In the meantime, and in between time there is a wonderful resource on the web that literally gives you one place to find quality preaching right at your fingertips. Sometimes listening to God's word is just the pick-up that you need to make it through that rough day on the job; so instead of looking for the online radio station that plays Gospel or Christian music all day, check out Oneplace.com. "Faithtalk" on Oneplace.com has programs by preachers and teachers like: Dr. Tony Evans, Nancy Leigh DeMoss, Dr. Michael Youseff, Dr. Ravi Zacharias, Chuck Swindoll, Charles Stanley, Greg Laurie, Dr. R.C.
