    Rock Band: The Missing Tracks

    The hits just keep on coming.
     
    Now that you can download the Cars first album and a handful of Jimmy Buffet songs for Rock Band, the promise of reliving the history of rock by pretending to play instruments in a videogame seems to be coming to life.

     

    But real fans of rock legend and lore are still waiting for a number of conspicuous absences from classic catalog of songs. So, come on Rock Band! Stop making excuses. Here’s 10 songs you should get on the platform right away:

     

    1.       Anything by the Beatles. But if I had to pick one song, I’d start with the classic, “I Wanna Hold your Hand”

    2.       Anything by Neil Young. Or, how about “Southern Man”?

    3.       Anything by Led Zeppelin. Really, how can you have a game called Rock Band without a song called “Stairway to Heaven”?

    4.       “Sultans of Swing”, Dire Straits

    5.       “Layla”, by Derek and the Dominos

    6.       “Fire”, The Jimi Hendrix Experience

    7.       “L.A. Woman”, the Doors

    8.       “Wild Thing”, The Troggs

    9.       “Born to Run”, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band

    10.   “Johnny B Goode”, Chuck Berry

    (And just to turn it up to 11, one more….)
