Now that the 2009 elections are over all eyes look to the 2010 midterm elections. With big wins in Virginia and New Jersey can the Republican Party keep the momentum going? If the republicans here in Jacksonville have anything to say about it, the answer would definitely be yes. The Republican Party is alive and well here in Jacksonville. This energy and excitement is needed due to the intense amount of work it is going to take to continue the republican victories in 2010. The organizing, fundraisers, and community outreach has already begun.
As we all have learned from the 2008 Presidential elections it is key to have effective communication and an informed voter. Social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter amongst others continue to assist in all aspects of campaigning. Here in Jacksonville that doesn't change. The local Republican Party is getting the word out and mobilizing this community to act. Even though the Duval County Republican Executive Committee is spearheading the GOP victory here in Jacksonville, there are many clubs and organizations doing their part to make it happen. These clubs are not only holding monthly meetings discussing important local races but are also reaching out and lending hands to campaigns across the nation. Getting to know these clubs and organizations allows you to interact with fellow republicans who share your views and allows you to motivate each other. The Duval County Young Republicans, the Jacksonville Young Republicans, and the Joseph E. Lee Clubs are just a few. To win these races it is going to take a total community effort. Utilizing the social networking sites and the clubs here in Jacksonville provides a stable way to inform and organize individuals to make phone calls, knock on doors, label mail outs, build signs, enter data, and coordinate transportation. The Jacksonville Republican Party is hard at work.
The party also needs the funds to thwart their opponents. Campaigning is not cheap. Of course you do not need the biggest budget and bankrupt your supporters but knowing that we all are doing our part is what Counts. In the 2008 presidential election Mike Huckabee was grossly outspent yet his message was heard loud and clear. Mitt Romney went deep into his own pockets to help fund his valiant effort. Whether it is a little or a lot a donation to a campaign can go a long way. Monday night November 9, 2009 the Duval County Republican Party will be hosting a night with Mitt Romney. This will be one night to Remember.
So if you are in Jacksonville and want to do your part to keep the Republican momentum going reach out to the energized local GOP and the active clubs and organizations we have here. Stop on by the JAXGOP website to volunteer. If you have questions, they are there to answer them for you. The Republican Party needs you!
