Are you concerned with the current state of families in your community? One local organization, Olive Crest, cares just as much as you do. In Southern Nevada since 1996, Olive Crest has been a resource for “strong families, safe kids.” Olive Crest is an organization that provides the tools to keep struggling families together. Olive Crest also offers foster care and adoption services.
With programs such as the Family to Family Connection, which offers parenting classes and support groups for parents of children up to four years old, Olive Crest teaches local families parenting strategies, as well as the safety, health, and nutrition needs of babies and toddlers.
The Family Resource Center provides basic needs such as food, clothing, baby items, and household supplies, while the Strong Families program works hard to keep at-risk families together, by offering support through intervention.
The Kids at Heart Program provides a direct way for Las Vegas locals to help kids in crisis through a monthly giving program. These donations help to find safe homes for these children as well as provide schooling, counseling, and recreational activities. By giving a regular donation, your money is put into the Las Vegas community immediately. You will also stay informed about how your gift is helping through email updates and the Hearts & Hands newsletter.
Olive Crest is currently accepting food donations in order to provide Thanksgiving dinners for Olive Crest families. They are also currently holding an online auction fundraiser through November 14, 2009. Some of the items include Las Vegas dinner and hotel packages and lunch dates with local Vegas celebrities. Just goto ebay.com and key in “Olive Crest Nevada” in the “find” box in order to participate.
