Kenny Waymire, a longtime animal rescuer and resident of Spring, Texas, has a difficult road ahead of him.

In 1997 it was discovered that Kenny had Membranous glomerulonephritis, a disorder of the kidney. With treatment, in 1999 he went into remission.
In 2007 the disorder came back. This time, treatments aren’t working.
He is facing dialysis and ultimately, a kidney transplant. Being uninsurable, Kenny’s estimated medical transplant expenses will be in excess of $105,000.
Family and friends are planning a fundraiser to get him on a transplant list, defray some of the astronomical costs, and do what they can to save his life.
And now, amidst all of this medical chaos, Kenny and his wife, Karin, have been dealt another crushing blow.
First they lost Chelsea, their beloved Golden, two weeks ago to cancer. Now their other Golden, Honey, has just been diagnosed as needing a splenectomy.
She is severely anemic and her white blood count is extremely high due to spleenitus.  The next step is to remove her spleen but she will need a blood transfusion first. The total surgery costs are estimated to be about $2,000.
What can you do to help?
There are several things:
  • Monetary donations – check, cash or online for transplant or Honey’s surgery. (contact information follows story)
  • Gift certificates for silent auction
  • Gift cards to purchase items for silent auction/fundraiser needs
  • Items are still needed for live or silent auction – i.e. gift baskets and items, art work, goods or services, jewelry, wine, tickets for museums/sports events etc.
You will be recognized as a supporter at the fundraising event, in any advertising, and on the website www.kidney4kenny.webs.com
