A Ruth's Chris restaurant recently opened in Greenville, South Carolina. It is located in the Crown Plaza Hotel on Congaree Road. They are open for dinner 7 days a week and you can contact them to secure dinner reservations at 864-248-1700. The general manager is Kirk Watkins. Please let him know I referred you, because of the excellent dining experience I received on my recent visit to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
My guest and I ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna for our starter course. It came to our table in a very timely manner and was not only beautiful to look at, but also delicious! It was tender and perfectly seared and came with a ginger / mustard sauce. We were able to dip the tuna in the sauce at our own will; it was not smothered in the sauce.
The Ruth's Chop Salad was my choice for a salad. It was a lovely mix of tender baby lettuces, spinach, radicchio. red onions, mushrooms, olives, bacon, hearts of palm, croutons, blue cheese and lemon basil dressing. I was pleased with this choice and the dressing was light and delicious. My guest ordered the Steak House Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. It was a mix of iceberg, arugula and baby lettuces with grape tomatoes, garlic croutons and red onions. The resulting taste was fresh and delicious.
For my main course, I ordered the Salmon Fillet. It arrived to our table with a smattering of butter under it and was broiled to perfection. I ordered the salmon medium and it was perfectly cooked. My guest ordered the Filet. He ordered his steak cooked medium and it also was cooked to perfection. All the steaks at Ruth's Chris steakhouse are touted to be the finest custom aged Midwestern beef. They broil it in a 1800 degree oven to lock in the corn fed flavor. They then serve the steaks on butter on a heated plate.
We ordered two side dishes to accompany our meals; Sauteed Mushrooms and Shoestring potatoes. The mushrooms were excellent in flavor and were cooked in their own juices served whole. The shoestring potatoes were equally as flavorful and came to our table heaped high on a plate. They were not greasy or too salty.
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse serves steaks, salmon, shrimp, crab cakes, stuffed chicken breast, pork, lamb and will offer one or two specials on any given evening. They are only open for dinner and the menu is presented in an a la carte manner. There usually is a prefixed dinner option on the menu that will include a salad, entree, one side and a dessert. They make all their desserts in house and do have a take out menu. The restaurant is an excellent choice for a special occasion or a business dinner.
