Make money and friends by selling a healthy lifestyle
Lisa Sallin, mother of 2 young children and a former school teacher, makes a very nice living with Herbalife. She sells the products and recruits others to represent the company. However, like so many people, she was skeptical about the company and its practices when a year ago, her husband brought home a DVD and workbook for her to consider. “I told him, ‘honey, these things don’t work,” she remembers.
“I had tried a few multilevel marketing businesses and failed miserably,” she says. “I wasn’t ready to look at something

new.” But her husband, who heard a radio ad touting the benefits of selling Herbalife, was so intrigued, he ordered the introductory kit from Financial Success System.
“We sat down to watch the DVD together, had a couple of conversations with our coach, and we were hooked,” she exclaims. “The company has been around for almost 30 years, it has a generous plan, you don’t have to sell to friends and family, which I dislike immensely, and there’s an easy system in place. This has literally changed my life.”
Ultimately, what sold Sallin on the company was the health benefits she and her husband were getting from using the products themselves. Sallin’s husband lost 15 pounds in two weeks, and Sallin said her health improved almost immediately. “People would ask us, ‘what are you doing?’ And we’d be happy to tell them. It was at that point that our business took off.”
Sallin explains that there are several levels at which to become involved and it doesn’t require huge amounts of money to get started, the lowest amount being $65. “We decided to go all the way,” Sallin explains. So they made an initial investment of $3,000 to come in at the “supervisor” level and received $4,000 worth of products. She boasts that she made that investment back in only 6 weeks with a $1700 profit. Now she can make anywhere from $2500 to $10,000 a month.
There are two avenues in which to make money. The first is by direct retail sales. The second is to recruit others and receive a commission off of their sales. “The beauty of this system is that, yes, I make a commission off of someone, but the money comes directly from Herbalife, not out of anyone’s pocket. Secondly, I mentor these people to help them to succeed. It’s a win-win situation all around,” she says.
Personally, Sallin enjoys helping people improve their health. “I love helping people feel better. I always ask my customers what they are looking for and give them samples of products first to try out. When they do purchase from me, I always follow up to make sure they are getting their desired result,” she explains.
Sallin cautions, “There are three things I tell prospective distributers about starting this kind of business; one, you have to be serious; two, you have to be teachable; and three, you’ve got to be willing to work. In this case, simple does not equal easy. Herbalife has a simple program in place, but you can’t sit back and watch the money roll in. You’ve got to get out there and work it!”
