This is a unique opportunity to pay off your student college loans and help bring a fresh, new voice to
government. Krystal Ball, a 27-year old Congressional candidate in America’s First District, VA-1, is offering a “Student Loan Challenge.” The person who helps raise the most money for Krystal by September 30, 2009, will get their student loans paid off, up to $50,000.
Currently, those under 30, with their unique perspective and combination of idealism and pragmatism have no voice in Congress. Ball will be the voice for anyone with an interest in the next generation. She stands up for marriage equality, for education funding, for technology based rural job growth, and for protecting the environment.
“The reason that there are no Democrats under 30 in Congress is because young people don’t have access to types of donors in our network who normally contribute to Congressional campaigns. Let’s change that! Let’s show the country that ideas count more than who you know or how much money you have,” says Ball. Campaign organizers are offering interested fundraisers their own web page on Ball’s site or on Facebook.
This method is legal and Krystal Ball will give the winner up to $50,000, subject to a few conditions. First, you must have a student loan. Then you have to win the contest by raising the most money by the September 30th deadline. “We also have to raise at least $100,000 from the promotion. If not, we can give at least 50% of the proceeds to the winner,” Ball explains. There is a minimum prize of $10,000 no matter how much is raised, and the contest is open to anyone living in the 50 states.
