Saturday, Nov. 7, the US House of Representatives will meet again to finalize the health care overhaul. Present House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), in his interview to the press on Friday, said that House Democrats are very close to securing the necessary 218 votes to pass the health care bill. In his interview Hoyer also mentioned a possibility of a vote stretching into Sunday or even next week if Republicans continue to delay the process. In the last few days Steny Hoyer,  House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other democrats were working hard to gather support from within their own party.

Health care reform continues to be one the most controversial topics on the current White House agenda. Not only it has generated widespread protests from the political right, but it is also continuing to stir uneasiness among some democrats.  As many as forty Democratic Representatives in the House are threatening to vote against the bill due to the disagreements on how to handle funding for abortion (more here) and some House Majority Party members are also still locked  in a dispute over a health care for illegal immigrants.

To help boost the health care reform's approval process President B.Obama announced earlier this week, Thursday. Nov. 5 support to the health care reform bill by AARP and AMA, get more detailed information on official web site for the White House.

On the same day, while Obama was giving his speech at The Rose Garden,  thousands of conservatives chanting "Kill the bill " at the call of some GOP leaders gathered on Capitol Hill to protest. A dozen of people were arrested outside of Nancy Pelosi's office, demonstrations continued throughout the day.
