A little bit of Britain has come to Canada. And no, it's not just the much hyped visit from Charles and Camilla.
British fashion house Burberry opened it's flagship store in Toronto last week. The nearly 10,000 square foot, 2-level store features ready-to-wear items from the Burberry Prorsum, Burberry London, and Burberry Brit collections as well as Burberry Sport, Childrenswear, and accessories. The store reflects the design aesthetic conceived by Burberry Creative Director Christopher Bailey, and showcases intrinsically British themes and materials.
Over 400 people attended to store opening party, including Heroes actress Ali Larter (who was wearing a Burberry trench) and model/actress Milla Jovovich. Music was provided by british DJ Tom Guiness who is also featured in the Autumn/Winter 2009 ad campaign. Dozens of stylish socialites and celebrities were on hand for the celebration and the champagne was flowing.
Finally, no one in Toronto will ever want for stylish rubber rainboots, cashmere scarves, or the perfect trench coat again.
The flagship Toronto store is located at 144 Bloor St West, 416-920-7717.
