Our kids also always call Grandpa and thank him for all that he did to serve our country and keep us safe. My husband's father served in the Korean War and still carries the physical and emotional wounds. He was the only man in his platoon to survive and he speaks to school groups and others about his experiences and the devastation of war. He is one of our heroes.
Thanks to the veterans and their spouses and children who endure so much and pay such a high price for our country. No matter what our thoughts about the wars, these men and women deserve our humble gratitude. Happy Veterans Day.
