Jean Sarkozy, the 23-year-old son of the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, has been appointed to head up the public agency that runs La Défense, arguably Paris' most important corporate district.
The fact that Jean is still a student is leading the French to cry foul at this blatant attempt at dynasty-building.
Le Dauphin Sarkozy has a baby on the way with an heir to an electronics fortune.
According to The Times of London:
Patrick Devedjian, a Cabinet minister and the current Défense boss, is being moved aside for the President’s second son. He reacted bitterly yesterday with a quotation from Corneille, the 17th-century dramatist: “For souls nobly born, valour does not await the passing of years.”
