As the holidays are approaching, it is ever more so important to find a job to support the Christmas shopping and extra food expenses. There is no better way to do so, than to spice up your resume with some great verbs! Here are some examples:

· Initiated

· Supported
· Directed
Under each job description, include two to three bullet points of description of your duties on previous jobs. Use the verbs above. For example,
Marketing Coordinator, Goldstar Architects, Chicago, Illinois 2001-2004
· Increased awards won by firm by 60%
· Initiated Green Building Meet-up to support sustainable design
· Won over 65 projects totaling over $100 million with firm’s marketing team
Here is what not to do:
Marketing Coordinator, Goldstar Architects, Chicago, Illinois 2001-2004
· Helped in award writing
· Attended Green Building Meet-Ups
· Wrote proposals and articles for architects
Resume writing is not about telling what you did. It is about impressing a prospective employer with your specific skills.
