The iPhone 3G had a strong opening weekend.
Despite the glitches, the problems with activation and downloading new software, it took just three days for Apple to sell 1 million iPhone 3Gs.

Apple said more than 10 million applications were downloaded over the weekend from its new App Store. Those applications, created by outside developers to run on the iPod Touch and the iPhone, now number more than 800, up from the 550 apps available when the 3G went on sale Friday.

Apple chief Steve Jobs said it took 74 days to sell 1 million of the first-generation iPhones. He called the 3G's initial success a "stunning opening weekend."
