CBS Says Yahoo!

June 4, 11:26 AM
by Darrell Proctor, Business Examiner

Today's deal between CBS Corp. and Yahoo Inc. is the latest in ventures designed to get more television content onto the Internet.

The agreement means Yahoo will become part of the CBS Audience Network, a group that includes YouTube (Google), AOL (Time Warner) and MSN (Microsoft), in addition to Bebo, Joost and Veoh.

The network also offers content from Showtime and CSTV in addition to CBS, which says the network reaches about 90 percent of the Internet (and that's before the Yahoo deal).

The content is supported by advertisers and free to Web surfers.
