Lots of folks are concerned about the privacy issues posed by Chrome, the new browser from Google (you can download it here).
Chief among them is the Omnibox, the browser's address bar. It has a feature that watches what you type, then lists sites it thinks you might be looking for (if you've used Google Suggest, you know what I mean).
As you're typing the text is sent back to Google. Even if you don't actually go to a site, Google is compiling the information - and it says it will keep some 2 percent of it.
What to do? Turn off the auto-suggest feature. Go to the "Incognito" mode of the browser. And do not make Chrome your default browser.
All that said, I've been using Chrome since mid-week and haven't encountered any significant problems. I'm impressed with its speed, and I didn't have the "scroll" problems that others had.
Still, at least for now, I'm likely to stick with IE7 and Firefox - and use Chrome when I want to make sure my Examiner page is displaying correctly across multiple browsers.
