The Internet allows for many things, not the least of which is the ability to place a bet (legal or illegal) on just about anything happening anywhere.
Now, Las Vegas casinos cannot legally take bets on the outcome of elections. But here are some betting lines anyway, with the numbers expected to move today depending on the reception to GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's acceptance speech.
Of course, you can also get odds on Palin either dropping out of the race (or simply being booted off the Republican ticket).
And in case you missed it, the FBI today doubled the reward money for information leading to the arrest of longtime fugitive James "Whitey" Bulger, who's celebrating - well, maybe he's celebrating - his 79th birthday today. The bounty has been increased to $2 million and there's a new wanted poster being printed and posted online.
Bulger is thought to be in Europe. He's wanted on federal murder and racketeering charges.
Odds Bulger gets caught? See that (and the rest of the FBI's 10 Most Wanted) here.
