Online degrees are useful tools - but
make sure you get what you pay for.

It certainly appears tempting.

Go online, attend courses while sitting at your computer, and earn a degree. it saves time, money - and in some cases, it's too good to be true.

This Fox News story talks about the pitfalls that can come with online degrees - like spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a degree that's basically worthless. Among the schools mentioned - Canyon College in Idaho, which has had some problems in the past.

Before you dismiss all online colleges and universities, remember that some are excellent choices to help jump-start a career. Go here for a list of 10 schools that have received high marks.
