Analyst: Amazon Kindle's numbers on rise

There remain plenty of skeptics. Citigroup's Mark Mahaney, though, is convinced sales of Amazon's Kindle e-book reader are rising, and will double his earlier estimates for 2008.

Here's one take on the story, with Mahaney saying Amazon will sell 378,000 Kindles this year. He says those sales will hit $1.1 billion - 4 percent of the company's overall sales.

Here's another article, in which Mahaney says Kindle "is becoming the iPod of the book world."

The Kindle sells for $359, a price that was cut from $399 when the reader was introduced last fall.
