Water for gas - an economic driver

August 19, 2:46 PM
by Darrell Proctor, Business Examiner

Talk about a technology that would really drive a business - putting water in your gas tank and powering your vehicle on H2O.

It's the hot topic today after more reports that a man doubled his gas mileage with a water-for-gas kit that costs a couple hundred bucks.

You can read about one take on the technology here.

One goal of a ramp-up in the production of alternative fuels should be to reduce our dependence on foreign oil - but it also must be cost-effective so that all consumers, including businesses, benefit. The high cost of some alternative energies - and the resulting impact on the economy - has been one of the reasons research into alternative sources has lagged. There are also political arguments, but that's a discussion for a different forum.

In any event, hydrogas seems to hold promise. Let's just hope it doesn't lead to wars over water.

There are many Web sites that offer information about water-to-gas conversion kits, and it could be a dangerous business to offer any recommendations. But here's one site worth checking out from among the dozens I found with a Web search. You also can check out their video below.
