That's according to The Wall Street Journal, which reports folks "familiar with the matter" are saying the two companies haven't reached a deal with the Dept. of Justice on putting together a search advertising partnership.
Google and Yahoo earlier in October said they would delay their deal, which allows Google to sell ads for some of Yahoo's online ad space. Advertisers were wary of the deal, fearing it would increase prices. ComScore Inc. says the two companies controlled more than 80 percent of Web search in August.
The deal originally was proffered as Yahoo sought to rebuff a bid from Microsoft. In June, the companies said the deal could increase Yahoo's cash flow by $250 million to $450 million.
