U.S. swimmers are getting help in Beijing from a technology developed by a professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The experimental flow measurement techniques are designed to help swimmers sharpen their strokes and get faster lap times.
Here's more information about the project developed by Timothy Wei, acting dean of RPI's School of Engineering.
Incidentally, Wei is not only working with U.S. swimmers - his techniques also are being used by the U.S. skeleton team.
