Job-searching these days usually involves more than just checking the classfieds.

And writing that resume usually involves knowing how to make a digital copy, and sometimes even a video.

So it should be no surprise that a job-search site says it has combined the best of employment sites with the best of online dating. In other words, using many variables to provide a "best match" when it comes to the employer-employee relationship.

That's the idea behind RealMatch, which bills itself as the "eHarmony of the employment industry." It's designed to do a better job of taking standard descriptions of skills, employment history and job preferences and matching them up between job seekers and potential employers.

RealMatch is free for those looking for jobs. You build a profile on the site, which then searches for the best match or matches among employers' job profiles.

The site launched in May and has gotten some good reviews, including a nod from BusinessWeek and this take from VentureBeat.

The Washington Post's Career Track columnist, Mary Ellen Slayter, wrote this piece recently about RealMatch.
