The folks who brought you Zillow.com and its look into the values of homes in your neighborhood (pretty flawed in my neighborhood, but still interesting) are now taking a look at companies and their salary structures.

The site is Glassdoor.com. You gain access by helping the site build its database, and you do that by turning over your own salary information (anonymously, of course).

The site claims to have collected data for more than 11,000 companies since it went online in June. It started by tracking salaries of technology companies, and has moved on from there to other industries.

Glassdoor says it reviews every submission to its database before it's posted to ensure accuracy, and it tosses what it considers "suspicious" content.

An interesting feature is the reviews of what it's like to actually work at a company - and whether employees are satisfied at particular firms.

Looking for other salary sites? Check out Salary.com and PayScale.com. The first looks at salaries for particular jobs in specific ZIP codes, the latter provides salary reports based on "job title, location, education, skills and experience."
