Imagine being able to change the TV channel with a wave of your hand.

How about adjusting the volume as well?

It's called "gesture interface technology." There's a camera inside the television that senses when a person enters its field of vision, searches for the person's hand, then interprets the hand signals.

According to this report, waving your hand up and down could change the volume; a raised hand could pause a DVD.

You could also control a cursor on the TV screen to perform other functions.

The technology is being developed at a laboratory in Cambridge, U.K.
