This seed vault in Svalbard, Norway, sits within the Arctic Circle.

The Global Crop Diversity Trust is reseaching crops from a variety of areas to find traits that could help divert a worldwide food crisis.

Scientists are seeking to create agricultural products resistant to drought - among other problems - as they try to find ways to help food-bearing crops adapt to changes in climate.

This report from Science Daily notes how scientists are filling a "doomsday seed vault" in Norway as part of their effort.
