A new Windows Mobile application launching today turns Wi-Fi-enabled smartphones into Internet hot spots.

The application - WMWifiRouter 1.20 - is from Morose Media. It's compatible with any phone with Windows Mobile 6, Windows Mobile 5 AKU 3.3 or newer.

WMWifiRouter 1.20 is downloadable from WMWifiRouter.com. The application makes it possible for PC, Apple and ASUS EeePC users to create a walking hot spot for secure Internet access.

Users also can share their cellular data and Internet connection with others for free, including users who have the iPhone and iPod Touch, via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB.
