Intel's announcement that it was adding a technology known as Remote Wake to four motherboards has created lots of buzz in the business community.
The technology, likely geared toward VoIP providers like Skype, could also be used for media management, like recording television shows.
Remote Wake improves on the Wake-on-WAN or Wake-on-LAN technology that's been around for a while. In essence, it would allow the PC to function as a phone - even when it's turned off.
CNet News has a good article about the technology, and details about the motherboards can be found here.
