John McCain's tech plan seeks
to make the federal government
more accessible.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain - who admitted earlier this year he's not a technology whiz - has unveiled the tech plan he'll follow if elected.

It's big on public-private research and development grants, with a goal toward moving government forward with technological applications. McCain also wants a nationwide public safety network for first responders.

And he wants to make government agencies more accessible online, with more information available for folks seeking to interact with federal departments.

Democratic candidate Barack Obama has talked about his tech platform for months; he actually released it in November 2007 at Google's headquarters in California.
