Obama's victory had much
to do with the fact voters
thought he would be able
to help fix the U.S. economy.

U.S. voters named the economy as the No. 1 issue in the just-completed presidential election. And the recent downturn on Wall Street has many of us concerned about the hits taken by our retirement accounts - and now, what Barack Obama can do about it.

This BusinessWeek (via Yahoo) article talks about Obama's plan to protect Americans' nest eggs, from taxes to retirement plans to Social Security.

Can he put his plan into practice? He'll have the advantage of a congressional majority, but that's no guarantee of success. But it appears he certainly has the momentum to make changes.
