John Wetteland, former Yankee World Series MVP and Texas Ranger relief pitcher, has been hospitalized for a mental issue according to officials.
Police in Denton County received a call around 12:30 from a woman at Wetteland’s home who reported a possibly suicidal person.
According to CBS 11, a man later identified as John Wetteland came out of his home waving his hands and saying he “needed help."
Wetteland pitched for 12 years in the majors including a World Series MVP with the Yankees in 1996. He is currently the Seattle Mariner’s Bullpen coach. Next
