In my article, Great 70’s bands: Part 1, I listed 5 bands. KISS, Queen, AC/DC, Van Halen and Ted Nugent. All were incredible musicians and they made Rock-N-Roll fun for me as a kid. There were 5 other bands that rocked in the 70’s (and beyond) and who deserve recognition as some of the best rock bands ever. Admittedly, 2 of these groups are a little lighter rock than the others, but the 70’s would not have been the same without them.
Eagles- Glen Fry and John Henley both went on to have good solo careers, but they were at their best when they were together as the Eagles. "Hotel California" is one of those songs that everyone knows, even today. "Desperado", "Tequila Sunrise", "One of These Nights", all were hit songs in the 70’s and deservedly so. No road trip is complete without the Eagles Greatest Hits CD.
Fleetwood Mac- This group went through a lot of drugs and a lot of bed mates, but you can’t take away the genius of their music. They were the perfect transitional band to take us out the 60’s and into the 70’s. Their self-titled album Fleetwood Mac in 1975 and Rumours in 1978 showed us the true talents of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. "Go Your

These were the first female rock stars I ever knew, they were rock goddesses to me in the 70’s (and still are today). Heart was perfect for an era when Title IX was coming of age and American women were standing up to be heard. Ann and Nancy Wilson brought us "Crazy on You" and "Magic Man", and you know you still sing along when those songs are played on the classic rock stations. Where would we be without "Barracuda"?
Led Zeppelin- My older siblings were so into Led Zeppelin, I had no choice but to get sucked into the frenzy. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page are musical icons. They bridged the gap between rock and heavy metal. They have sold more than 200 million albums worldwide and in the 70’s they were the biggest rock band on the planet. "Stairway to Heaven", need I say more?
Pink Floyd- 200 million albums sold worldwide proves that this band is one of the all-time greats. Their 1973 album Dark Side of the Moon went to #1 on the
